PhD Scholarships to further regional mental health on offer!
Developing the next generation of mental health researchers in regional Australia is one of Manna Institute’s important goals. To this end, we will be rolling out a number of scholarships to support higher degree research students.
The University of New England is offering four PhD scholarships in 2023 – two of them for identified First Nations scholars* – to explore the mental health needs of regional Australians.
These three-year scholarships will be awarded to successful candidates to join Manna Institute and engage in research projects on one of four themes: the existing and emerging mental health workforce; individuals’ health and wellbeing; priority populations; and the impact of changing environmental conditions on mental health.
The tax exempt scholarships are valued at $45,000 per year and paid in fortnightly instalments. International candidates are invited to apply but, if successful, will be responsible for their international tuition fees and overseas health cover.
Domestic students, especially those with experience of working or living in regional communities, are also encouraged to apply, as are applicants with lived experience of mental health.
Applicants must meet UNE’s admission requirements for a PhD program, and be willing to work in a research team environment in person or remotely. Further information regarding postgraduate entry requirements can be found on the UNE webpage.
Go to scholarship terms and conditions for more information about UNE’s HDR scholarships.
Applicants must complete and submit a candidature application, provide all required supporting documentation, a letter of intent and a current resume. For more information on submitting a candidature application, please see our webpage on how to apply/enrol for candidature.
